2020 Northwest Horn Symposium
to be held in conjunction with
IHS 52
University of Oregon, August, 2020
Originally, the Northwest Horn Society had planned to support IHS 52, scheduled to take place at the University of Oregon in August, 2020, by attending the event and holding its annual meeting in conjunction with the international symposium.
IHS 52 was well underway in terms of planning and preparation when the pandemic shutdown began in March, 2020. It was determined that it would be impossible to hold this event live. We quickly pivoted to a virtual event. All presenters were invited to create a virtual presentation which Jeff Snedeker then curated for presentation on the IHS website. These virtual presentations were available to all IHS members on the IHS website from Aug - Nov, 2020 as a “virtual symposium”. No performers or exhibitors were presented as part of this event, due to the unexpectedness and novelty of the situation. All participants and exhibitors that had already paid for IHS 52 were refunded in full and costs for the cancellation of the in-person symposium were absorbed by the University of Oregon. Many thanks to Jeff Snedeker for his work in curating the virtual presentations and to Dan Phillips, for creating and maintaining the space on the IHS website. Lydia Van Dreel, host, IHS 52
There was no program book, but a visual representation of all 28 IHS 52 presentations is provided below.
