Northwest Horn Symposium
2020

Picture
We are excited to announce that the 52nd Annual International Horn Symposium will be hosted by Lydia van Dreel and the University of Oregon Horn Studio in Eugene, OR from August 3-8, 2020! Due to the scale of this event and the wide array of opportunities it provides, the NwHS will not host a separate NW Horn Symposium in 2020, however, we will hold an annual NwHS meeting in conjunction with the IHS event. The NwHS is excited to support the upcoming IHS symposium, and we hope that you will save the dates.

The theme of IHS 52 is "The Healthy Horn".Come to IHS 52 to be inspired by breathtaking concerts from internationally renowned horn virtuosi, to meet artisan horn makers from around the world, to attend master classes and presentations from experts in many fields, and to explore all aspects of horn health. One day of the symposium will be a PNW feature and will include several PNW artists as featured guests. Registration for Participants and Exhibitors will be available online on Dec. 1, 2019 at www.ihs52.com

We will resume our regular NW Horn Symposia in 2021. We are so grateful to have such a wonderfully active and healthy horn community in our corner of the world, and we hope to see you all in Eugene next August!

Sincerely,

Gina Gillie, NwHS President
Lydia Van Dreel, IHS 52 Host
