1999 Northwest Horn Workshop
University of Victoria, Victoria, BC
July 2-4, 1999
The 1999 Northwest Horn Workshop was co-hosted by Dawn Haylett and Martin Hackleman at the University of Victoria in Victoria, BC. The event was A Tribute to Richard Ely in celebration of his retirement from UVic. Joan Watson from the Toronto Symphony and a former student of Ely was the Featured Artist, and the three-day workshop included the typical combination of recitals, masterclasses, presentations, guided warmups, and a massed ensemble. It was a great event!
There was no formal program for the workshop. The attached file includes a description of the workshop from the June 1999 Northwest Horn News and a scan of Joan Watson's program on July 3. Anyone who has other programs from this event is invited to send scans to the President of NWHS.
